Direct selling driving personal growth

Personal growth is very important in all the aspect of life. Whatever that you do, make sure that it contributes something to your personal and mental growth. Growing personally can mean anything and is different for everyone. For me it was when I kept aside my fear of meeting new people and initiating conversation.
When I started networking, it was difficult. We were going through a rough patch as a family. I had a difficult time getting the hang of it, and was so scared to talk to people. I am what they call, an ambivert; I am shy and quiet till I get comfortable. But when you are in the business, you can’t wait or take your time to get comfortable with a prospect and then present your idea – that way you’d never reach anywhere. I agree with Leonardo Dicaprio when he says, “Time is money my friend”, because in direct selling time really is money.

Boosts Self Confidence

When you are into direct selling business or any business, the first impression that you make on your client or prospect matters the most. And having a confident aura always helps. When you meet a prospect, you should first make sure that you are confident and that you believe in yourself. I do a technique where I look at the person and think of them as just another human and not a prospect for the business. That way I am able to calm myself down and approach in a way that we connect.

Interpersonal skills

Direct selling is all about developing and maintaining relations. When you make good connections, it helps your business. Direct selling teaches you how to maintain relations with your business partners and also how to make some good connections.

Communication skills

Communication is the key to succeeding in a direct selling business, it holds the key to growth. The better you communicate, the better you connect with the prospect. Communication needs to be polished when you are in networking. I know around 8 regional languages like, Hindi, English, Malayalam, Tamil, Punjabi, Marathi, Konkani and Gujarati. Being multilingual always works in your benefit in this or any other business. You can connect to your prospect more when you talk in their mother tongue and it also makes the client more comfortable.

Focus

Being an entrepreneur requires constant efforts. You work day and night to take your business off the ground and put it on the map. All of this definitely requires tons of willingness to work and the focus needed to implement it. If you aren’t focused, you will bring down the company. Being an entrepreneur and being a mother is very similar — my business is like my baby. The way I take care of my child and give her time I need to contribute the same way to my company for it to flourish.

Direct selling is not a work that anyone can do. You need to be determined and focused. Direct selling has taught me how to be my best self by bringing out the best in me. Every day is like a new challenge and I face it with a renewed spirit and confidence.
